Clinical management

In the author's words. Clinical management is defined as "a decision-making process in clinical practice". Is this it? oriented to achieve the maximum benefit for the patient ”. " Its objective is to achieve an improvement in the quality of service and the hospital management model." To this end, "all professionals involved in its implementation are involved."

The central axis of clinical management is clinical practice. For this to be possible, the organization must revolve around the patient.  From there all health care is managed.

This is aimed at "an evidence-based model of practice, which implies a transfer of decision rights to the patient and a culture of cooperative work organization". Therefore , “the introduction of objectives of effectiveness and efficiency must pivot not only economically but also in the professional and ethical development of the person. At the organizational level, clinical management involves providing a healthcare unit with a small management structure, with authority and instruments to plan and manage its activities. ”

In this sense,  the patient takes an active role in decision-making and health care. In addition  it empowers itself on its disease. The assistance must be comprehensive and multidisciplinary , carried out by a team of doctors in a coordinated manner. Due to the increase in chronicity and multiple pathologies, it is necessary to offer a comprehensive treatment.
